MEET OUR PARTNERS
Mark Palley
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL HISTORY:
Mark graduated with a B.A. from U.C. Santa Cruz in 1981 and a J.D. from U.C.L.A. School of Law (Order of the Coif) in 1985.
After one year as an associate at Tuttle & Taylor (later merged into Heller Ehrman), Mark clerked for Judge Charles E. Wiggins (deceased) of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. He worked for Steinhart & Falconer (later merged into DLA Piper) until 1992, when he joined the Law Office of Kennedy P. Richardson. With Ken and one other lawyer, Mark founded Marion's Inn in 1996. He is proud of the firm’s growth from humble beginnings to its present (still small) size, as well as the firm’s work on behalf of a major California health plan.
COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Mark served for several years as a Judge Pro Tem of the small claims department of the Alameda County Superior Court. Since the early 2000s, Mark has been an officer and director of a non-profit organization, Restore Hetch Hetchy, that advocates for recovery of a second glacial valley in Yosemite National Park and for improved public access in its current dammed state.
PRACTICE AREAS:
Since he began practicing in 1985 Mark has handled a variety of civil cases at both the trial and appellate level. He has broad experience in health law, commercial law, employment law, civil litigation and appellate practice.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:
In addition to the California bar, Mark is a member of the bars of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California

Yvonne Pierrou
EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Originally from Modesto, California, Yvonne graduated with honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990 with a degree in English. She graduated with a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, in 1993. At Boalt, she served as an associate editor of the Ecology Law Quarterly, and as a teaching assistant in a legal-research-and-writing class.
After graduation, Yvonne practiced for one year with the Walnut Creek civil defense law firm of Gibbons, Lees & Conley. In January 1995, she joined the Law Office of Kennedy P. Richardson, which became Marion’s Inn in January 1996. Yvonne became a partner of the firm in January 2001 and has experience with health law, arbitration, appellate, and civil litigation matters.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS: In addition to membership in the California State Bar and Alameda County Bar Association, Yvonne is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Central and Northern Districts.
OTHER LANGUAGES: Modest familiarity with French and German.

Lauren Delucchi
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL HISTORY:
Lauren grew up in Stockton, California and attended the University of Tulsa where she graduated cum laude. During law school at University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, she worked as a research assistant, successfully represented an asylum seeker through the school’s Refugee and Human Rights Clinic and interned at the National Labor Relation Board’s Oakland office. She earned CALI Awards (highest grade in the class) in Labor Law, Refugee Law and Community Property and graduated cum laude. Lauren started working at Marion’s Inn in 2020 as an Associate Attorney and was promoted to Partner in 2024. She has extensive experience in payment and coverage disputes between hospitals and health plans, arbitration of health-care claims, and other healthcare and civil litigation matters, and has sat as second chair in major commercial arbitrations.
